Minister of Post and Telecommunications Mr.Karim Bibi Triki has received on Monday, August 12th, 2024 at his department’s headquarters, the Nigerien Minister of communication, posts and Digital Economy Mr. Sidi Mohamed Raliou.
The meeting was an opportunity to assert both parties’ commitment to enhance cooperation among the fellow neighboring countries through achieving many structuring projects linked to the postal and telecommunications fields.
Both parties have expressed their satisfaction about the progress of the project related to the Trans-Sahara Optical Fiber Backbone linking Niger to the international bandwidth from Algeria, through the exploitation of the huge capacities, which Algeria possesses currently in terms of the international bandwidth.
As regards this important regional project, which aspires to reinforce complementarity and socio-economic integration amidst the African concerned countries, it should be mentioned both countries have finished the extension works of the fiber optic network on their lands until the common borders.
Furthermore, both ministers have tackled the multiple cooperation opportunities in the common interest realms, such as postal services and the regulation of electronic communications and training.
