Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Mr.Karim Bibi Triki has chaired an orientation meeting by videoconference with regional directors of post and telecommunications in order to inquire about the progress rate of the project related to the connection of 1400 low-density areas (less than 2000 inhabitants) nationwide, with the public network of mobile telecommunications, launched lately.
This significant project is included within the endeavour of anchoring the principle of equality as regards the use of electronic communications’ services by all citizens and contributes to the digital regional planning in addition to bridging the digital divide among the country’s areas, by the several available means and resources such as the mechanism of support for the Universal Electronic Communications Service.
To that end, after highlighting this project’s importance, the Minister has given instructions to regional executives to speed the achievement of this project and follow it closely while sustaining operators in carrying out the relevant operations in full respect of the deadlines set in the signed specifications in order to allow citizens to benefit from services in due course.
