In order to secure and guarantee the continuity of telecommunications services, on one side, to consolidate and increase international bandwidth, on another side, the Sector is working to diversify the submarine links which connect Algeria to rest of the world, in accordance with the directions of the President of the Republic, relating to the need to add other submarine cables to connect to the Internet, in addition of developing the capacity of the cables currently in use.
In this context, it is important to note that the reinforcement of existing cables made it possible to increase the equipped capacity of the bandwidth significantly, by adding 5Tbps to the existing capacities, to reach 7.8 Tbps of equipped capacity in 2022.
