Minister of Post and Telecommunications Mr .Sid Ali Zerrouki has chaired, today in Sétif, a meeting with the sector’s local officials, in person for the eastern provinces , or via video-conference for the other ones. It was an opportunity for him to take stock of the sector’s situation across the country as well as to give orientations mainly about:
- Ensuring ATMs availability and their supply with the necessary cash on a regular basis in addition to the rapid response for real-time maintenance in the event of breakdowns.
- The vigorous follow-up of the installation of 600 new ATMs in the various provinces within the agreed deadlines.
- Accelerating the implementation of the universal service of electronic communications relating to
- the coverage of 1400 low-density areas with mobile telephony and internet network nationwide, in a bid to enable citizens to benefit from it as soon as possible.
- Assisting mobile telephony operators to achieve the planned projects for 2025 to densify the network and enhance service quality.
- optimising reception capacity which the fiber optic network offers by continuing the local actions and keeping their promotion to highlight this technology’s benefits and encourage citizens to adopt it with the use of e-payment means.
The minister ended the meeting by recalling his constant commitment to improve the working conditions for workers who constitute the pillar to achieve the defined programme.
