National awareness campaign about internet fraud launched officially

Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Mr.Sid Ali Zerrouki has supervised, on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, the official launch of the « national campaign on internet fraud », organized by his ministerial department jointly with many other sectors and national bodies under the theme : « Don’t share your personal information online !. Be careful ! The swindler is watching ! »

This campaign, stretching from 10th to 30th May, is part of the implementation of the annual action plan of awareness raising on the risks of the misuse of the internet.

In his speech, the minister said these risks constitute a challenge imposed by cyberspace, and might affect individuals’ private life and digital safety, and mentioned the significant rise in digital fraud and swindling. To that end, it is necessary to face this scourge through the widespread awareness.

As for the main goals of this campaign, he underscored they revovle around :

  • raising the awareness about the main methods of digital fraud and the ways of its detection,
  • Empower citizens to fight these methods,
  • Promote best practices and reinforce the adoption of safe digital behavior.,
  • enhacing the report on such scam cases to the competent authorities.

The minister added this campaign will be widespread nationwide thanks to the unification of the actors’ efforts. In this respect, workshops, community meetings and interactive activities are scheduled to bring the information closer to the citizens as well as to instill the culture of digital safety in the society under the supervision of our department’s senior executives and their counterparts from other contributing sectors and bodies.

Representatives of several sectors and bodies of the joint work group have given presentations about the impact of the personal data sharing, digital fraud and swindling and the good practices for a safe use of Edahabia card and BaridiMob app.
