The sector supports general census of agriculture 2024 through a postage stamp to commemorate it

Minister of Post and Telecommunications Mr.Karim Bibi Triki has supervised on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Mr.Youcef Chorfa, the release of a postage stamp on the general census of agriculture 2024, scheduled from May 19th to July 17th, 2024.

This is included within the governmental collaboration aiming at giving importance to this process, the third of its kind, following those of 1973 and 2001. Indeed, public authorities, mainly President of the Republic give a particular interest to this periodic process which constitutes a practical and essential means for establishing efficient programmes to develop agriculture in line with citizens’ requirements and needs. This will enable to handle their expectations at best. Besides, this census will allow, through its results, to outline the agricultural situation, the geographical distribution of agricultural holdings and their special features in a bid to set up a reference database for all sectors , serving

to achieve public development plans adapted to the special features of agricultural holdings that will be recensed nationwide.

This stamp will embody the marking of the general census of agriculture through two designs :

First design :

Algerian’s geographic map with a green background, interspersed with drawings of leaves with a slogan in white, and a drawing of a green right hand, at the core of the map, from which emerge three green spikes of growing dimension from right to left.

Second design :

Algerian’s geographic map with a brown background, interspersed with drawings of leaves with a slogan in green, and a drawing of a white right hand, at the core of the map, from which emerge three white spikes of growing dimension from right to left.

200000 thousand copies will be issued with a descriptive card in four languages providing information about the process.

The sale will be in the post office’s main revenue  as of May 19-20, and for all post offices nationwide, it will be as from May 21st.
