As part of the implementation of the action plan related to the sector of post and telecommunications, notably in its section linked to the improvement of coverage with mobile telephony nationwide, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Mr. Sid Ali Zerrouki has chaired, on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, an assessment meeting with mobile telephony operators in presence of Chairman of the Regulatory Authority of Post and Electronic Communications (ARPCE), Mr.Mohamed El Hadi Hannachi.
During this meeting, it was about the presentation of the interim results achieved to enhance the coverage pursuant to the previous orientations of the minister based
on the shortcomings recorded on the ground, while stressing the need for continuing the coverage of national road axes prior to the end of this year. In addition, tthe minsiter inquired about the operators’ availability for 5G launch.
Mr. Zerrouki has pointed out that the coverage of road axes with mobile telephony is not a mere technical service, but rather an economic lever to facilitate displacement and transactions as well as a social pillar to strengthen linking and connectivity of zones. Besides, it constitutes a guarantee of security to protect citizens and enable them to be constantly connected.
In conclusion, the minister has recalled the aim of this interim assessment through meetings, in order to follow closely the rythm of projects implementation and ensure the achivement of the set goals within the allotted deadlines.
