Conditions and organization of the Competition
Anyone wishing to participate in the Competition must meet these conditions:
- The child must be between 9 and 15 years old,
- The letter must be handwritten and in one of the following languages: Arabic, Amazigh or English;
- The letter must contain the following details: the author’s identity (name, first name, date and place of birth, level of education, telephone number of the tutor, name of the school with the mention of the province), and shall contain the necessary elements relating thereto.
- The candidate’s participation is by letter only.
- The number of words allowed must not exceed 800 words.
The letters must be filed in the period from Feb 5th to March 31st, 2025 as follows:
- Nationwide: schools, special education and training establishments or post offices. In this case, the letter must be placed in a sealed envelope without stamp, addressed to: Mr. Director of Post and Telecommunications (with the mention of the relevant province) bearing: “National Letter-Writing Competition for young people”,

- The selection of letters goes through three stages: at the provinces level, then at the regional level and finally at the national level.
- Following the first selection of the best letter at regional level, candidates will be asked to write their letters again in the presence of a jury.
- The best letter at national level will be sent to the UPU international office to represent Algeria in the International Letter-Writing Competition, before May 5th, 2025.
- The announcement of the national winners is scheduled for early May.
- The winners will receive valuable awards.
