Algeria Joins the Global “50-in-5” Campaign to Accelerate Digital Public Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth

Algeria, through the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, announce its participation in the global 50-in-5 Campaign, reaffirming its commitment to building secure, inclusive, and interoperable Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for all citizens.

Joining this global initiative marks a new milestone in Algeria’s digital infrastructure transformation journey, which is guided by the vision of the President of the Republic to strengthen digital sovereignty, expand financial inclusion, and ensure equal access to public services across all regions of the country.

Through the 50-in-5 Campaign, supported by partners such as  UNDP, and other global organizations, Algeria joins a community of nations working together to design, implement, and scale foundational DPI components, including digital identification, digital payments, and data-exchange systems, within the next five years.

«Digital Public Infrastructure is not only about technology,  it’s about trust, inclusion, and sovereignty.Guided by the vision of the President of the Republic, Algeria is building foundational digital systems that bring government closer to its citizens, making services more transparent, accessible, and secure for everyone. Through open standards, interoperability, and strong international partnerships, we are turning policy into platforms and vision into value, connecting Algeria to the heart of Africa’s digital future. » H.E. Sid Ali Zerrouki, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Algeria.

Algeria’s DPI agenda is already advancing through several flagship initiatives:

e-Tawki3, the national digital identification and e-signature framework enabling secure access to online services.

Algérie Poste  a digital payments ecosystem connecting over 29 million accounts and 18 Million Edahabia cards, advancing financial inclusion nationwide.

These initiatives are complemented by regional digital Skills centers and AI-ready infrastructure, ensuring that youth, women, and rural communities benefit equally from Algeria’s digital transformation.

The 50-in-5 Campaign provides an opportunity for Algeria to share its experience, learn from global peers, and contribute to shaping a digital Africa grounded in trust, inclusion, and cooperation.
