Minister of Post and Telecommunications Mr. karim Bibi-Triki has supervised the 20th national march of mailmen with 150 participants, both genders.
Minister of Post and Telecommunications Mr. karim Bibi-Triki has supervised on Friday, January 12th, 2024, the 20th national march of mailmen, in which participated 150 mailmen of both genders from various provinces in the country on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of Algerie Poste’s creation.
Participants to this march placed under the slogan “United for trust, let’s cooperate for a safe and connected future”, have crossed the roads and routes of Dar El Beida municipality. It was kicked-off at 8:00 a.m. by the Minister who was accompanied with the general director of Algerie Poste, from Dar El Beida post office over as distance of 4km to reach Algerie Poste’s general directorate.
The Minister seized this opportunity to highlight the importance of this event which is a deeply-rooted tradition and an occasion for “consolidating mutual aid and cooperation bridges” in a contest full of conviviality and noble sport values.
Besides, the Minister has praised mailmen’s role in conveying mails and documents “with care and attention”. He also said “they reflect the spirit of permanent involvement and infinite dedication to ensure ongoing public service on a human, citizen and proximity scale.”
The minister has recalled the dynamic and transformation of the sector through many achievements and positive indicators to implement President of the Republic’s commitments, and asserted Algerie Poste, thanks to its long history, has managed to preserve its identity and rooted values in its modernization and development process”. The Minister added it has become “a role model” thanks to its workers’ commitment, involvement and determination.
General Manager of Algerie Poste Mr. Louai ZIDI said he was proud of the achievement of this company and that “this 20th march is an annual ritual to reward mailmen for their contribution in the company’s social role.”
There were nine laureates in this contest for three categories: “Ladies”, “Veterans” and “Seniors”.
First positions went to Mrs. Bentaleb Sabah from Algiers (Ladies), Mr. Maâmri Mourad from Tlemcen (Venerans) and Mr. Ataâllah Mohamed Hamoudi from El Oued (Seniors).
Out of gratitude to mailman’s position, Mr. Ali Foudhi, 57 from Kouba’s post office (Algiers) and the youngest mailman Ben Saidi Karim, 24, from Oran, have also been rewarded for their professional efforts.
Finally, the ceremony wrapped up by a Tombola won by many participating mailmen.
