The equipped capacity of our country’s international telecom network reaches 9.8TB/s

Minister of Post and Telecommunications Mr. Karim Bibi-Triki has announced, today Monday, January 29th, 2024 from Tamenghasset that in order to reinforce national capacities in terms of international broadband, the new increase of the equipped capacity of international telecom network of our country has been finalized to reach, as such, 9.8 TB/s compared to 7.8 TB/s in 2022, 2.8 TB/s in 2021 and 1.5 TB/s in 2020.

This increase enables greater flexibility considering the strategic importance of international broadband in securing and sustaining internet service. Besides, it provides the suitable conditions for continuing the implementation of the action plan about modernizing and developing telecom infrastructure and thus meeting –proactively- the increasing demand for internet to supply very high speeds pursuant to President of the Republic’s instructions.
