Nine Algerian projects nominated for the pre-final phase of the SMSI prizes 2024 competition

Following Algeria’s participation in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2024, organized annually by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), we are pleased to inform you that nine Algerian projects have been nominated for the next round as follows.

The projects have been nominated are:

AL C2. Information and Communication Infrastructure :

  • Electric network geolocation HTA project submitted by Sonelgaz.
  • Management of road interventions submitted by Sonelgaz.

AL C7. E-science:

  • Concept of an artificial intelligence platform for predictive maintenance submitted by Sonatrach.
  • SIGNLINGO project submitted by Ferhat ABBAS SETF University (IOMP).

AL C7. E-employment:

  • OGC (Offer Grands Comptes) project submitted by the National Employment Agency (ANEM).

AL C7. E-health:

  • Anesi project submitted by ANESI company.

AL C8. Cultural Diversity and Identity, Linguistic Diversity and Local Content:

  • Center for Digitization and Documentation of Heritage and Arts in Setif submitted by the Digitization Association for Technology and Science (Borj Bou Arreridj).
  • Restoration and digitization of Algerian film heritage submitted by the National Center for Cinema and Audiovisual (CNCA).

AL C9. Media:

  • Mindset IN project submitted by the Algerian Public Television Company.

It is worth noting that in each category, the five (5) projects with the highest number of votes will be selected and subjected to a final evaluation by an expert committee of the ITU, which will choose a single winner for each category.

To support Algerian projects in their quest to win their category, we invite you to vote and encourage massive participation in the voting process, following the procedure outlined in the voting guide available on website of Ministry of post and telecommunications

The voting process, accessible via the following link: https://www.itu.int/net4/wsis/stocktaking/Prizes/2024#start,  will close on April 04, 2024, at 23:00 CEST.

The final results of the competition will be announced during the WSIS Forum 2024, scheduled to take place from May 27 to May 31, 2024, in Geneva, Switzerland.
