Project’s Key-dates:
- March 31st 2015: signing of the procurement contract between the Ministry of Post and ICT (MPTIC), Alcatel Submarine Networks group and I.T International Telecom Marine SRL.
- August 6, 2015:MPTIC signed a notification of agreement for Algerie Telecom allowing it to join ORVAL project via the achievement of a connector unit “CU” and an undersea section between the CU and Algiers. Then, “ALVAL” project was created aimed for linking Algiers to Valencia funded by Algerie Telecom’s own funds.
- December 7th 2015 :Launch of ORVAL achievement works;
- Achievementof sea survey operations, leading to the final stop of sea and land route of the undersea cable in May 2016;
- Setting up, on March 8, 2016, Algerie Telecom Europe (ATE), a subsidiary of Algerie Telecom in Spain aimed for representing the Algerian State in the implementation of the system and its economic exploitation;
- June 17, 2018 :completion of works related to the undersea cable laying;
- Layout and set up of all equipments of the two stations Oran and Algiers;
- The works on the two land routes were completed. The reception of these routes is announced in by June-July 2018.
